SMIL is 9ICK’s independent jazztronica album, recorded across Copenhagen, London, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, New York and beyond. Bringing together an international cast of collaborators including Braxton Cook, Rasmus Sørensen, Mauricesax, Jonas Cook, Alex Bone and more, the record moves fluidly between modern jazz, nu-jazz and groove-driven production. Grounded in 9ICK’s background as a pianist and shaped by a forward-thinking approach to sound, SMIL unfolds as a joyful, borderless conversation told through improvisation, collaboration and rhythm.
